Submission requirements:

• We accept art, poetry, and flash submissions. We will also consider work that blends, or transcends, traditional genre constraints.
• POETRY: Please submit your best 1-5 poems, no more than 50 lines per poem.
• FLASH: pieces should be under 750 words and limited to three per submission.
• ART: Acceptable art includes photography, paintings, drawings, etc.
  • Art should be submitted as a high quality image in JPEG or PNG format. We are unable to accept 3D art submissions at this time. Please submit your best 1-5 pieces.
  • All art submissions should have a title and description of medium used.
• Please include your cover letter on your submission document. 
• Please allow 6-8 weeks for responses.

Terms and Conditions:

• We do not accept AI submissions or partial-AI submissions.
• Simultaneous submissions welcome. Please indicate in cover letter if you are submitting simultaneously, and email us if your work has been accepted elsewhere. We do not accept previously published work.
• You are giving permission to Dogwood Alchemy to publish your work online in perpetuity.
• You will retain all ownership rights to the copyrights to your work. 
• All published work will be copy-edited. We will always strive to maintain absolute fidelity to the author’s/artist’s original submission. In the event of formatting/printing constraints, the editorial team will work with contributors to format a version that’s acceptable for both parties.
• While we are unable to pay contributors currently, this is something we are working towards for the future.
• After appearing in Dogwood Alchemy, should your work be reprinted elsewhere, please mention that it appeared here first.​ Please also let us know so that we can celebrate your success on our website and social media!
